Real time, bi-directional (read/write) access to databases through JDBC drivers (plus the ability to leverage existing queries and/or stored procedures) gives mobile users the information they need to support decisions, take action, and keep business moving... in the right direction. That information is provided by Administrators when they combine database lookups with other enterprise applications to give users on-demand drill-down capabilities to find the most up-to-date facts available – facts that ensure that users’ information is complete, actions are appropriate, and results are accurate.
XML Web Services
The utilization of existing WSDL (Web Services Description Language) files speeds up the process of transforming web services for mobile use. The inputs, outputs, and locations of web services are determined by Webalo automatically, and everything conforms to WS-I basic profile standards for interoperability. To give business users mobile access to the CRM, ERP, SFA, and custom-built in-house application tasks and workflows they rely on, all an administrator has to do is give the inputs and outputs more self-explanatory names that will make sense to those users. The users get to focus on their work... not the underlying technology.
Reports
The information in Webalo-mobilized reports is never boring. Webalo enables multi-dimensional display and analysis of .xls, .xlsx, .csv, and .tls files in dynamically rendered tables or charts that can be updated automatically. Those updates, set up when an Administrator configures the content of a report, begin as revisions that are emailed to Webalo, and Webalo then automatically updates the reports on users’ smartphones and tablets. It’s the essence of perpetually accurate workflow. For additional security, those emailed revisions can be TLS-encrypted during transmission to ensure that the information is readable only by those who are supposed to read it.
Websites
Not all legacy systems provide website access using standard methods such as SQL and XML web services, so Webalo integrates with those systems to give mobile users access to the exact web content and actions they need. By scraping data and actions from websites, Webalo can be configured for access that avoids the usual multi-step navigation procedures and displays only the information and tasks that each user needs. That makes workflows more streamlined, interactions more rapid, and mobile users more productive.
